Forbidden Fruit

There is a moment where I realized that liberating myself from the expectations of society had created a chasm that I would never be able to cross again. The ways that I view gender, fashion, body image, health, relationships, and much more are completely different on a fundamental level than the way many people accept them. It felt as if I’d bitten the forbidden fruit and corrupted myself with knowledge I was never meant for. But, despite everything, I could still taste how sweet it was on my tongue. This piece is about that feeling.
